Arm Lift Recovery: What Should You Expect?
When it comes to spot-treating certain areas on the body, arms can give anyone a pretty tough time. While there are plenty of arm exercises out there, it can be difficult to burn off fat so you can reveal all of your hard work. Plus, if you’ve lost some of your skin elasticity, losing weight can create arm sagginess, which isn’t exactly great for your confidence.
That’s why the arm lift is such a popular treatment option, as it helps tighten, streamline, and contour the appearance of sagging arms with excess fat.
Let’s take a look at what this procedure entails, as well as what you should expect from your arm lift recovery.
What is an Arm Lift?
An arm lift (also known as a Brachioplasty) is a unique procedure that’s used to target sagging skin on the upper arms. This surgery can also include liposuction, especially if a candidate has excessive arm fat and can’t seem to lose it despite a healthy diet and exercise.
During the arm lift surgery, your plastic surgeon will perform the liposuction procedure first, using a series of cannulas. Once the fat has been drained from the treated area, the plastic surgeon creates a skin incision to remove excess skin and create a toned appearance.
What Can I Expect From Arm Lift Recovery?
It may sound like a complicated process, but the recovery time is actually surprisingly quick. Most patients only need about three days of at-home post-op recovery. Patients can generally return to their jobs after about three to five days, provided that it’s a desk job.
For the first month after the procedure, you’ll be restricted from engaging in any vigorous activities.
