Mini Facelift vs. Facelift: Which is Better?
Have you heard the terms “facelift” and “mini-facelift” used interchangeably, but not sure which one is better for you?
Settle in and relax, because we’re about to explore the differences between these two facelift procedures, including which one is better at treating aging symptoms.
Mini Facelift vs. Facelift
In order to determine which procedure is right for you, it’s important to understand what each procedure is, and what it’s designed to target.
A traditional facelift is a procedure designed to not only treat aging symptoms on the face – like sagging skin, wrinkles, and more – but it can also remove excess skin around the upper and lower facial areas. A facelift is a good choice for candidates who have poor skin laxity and, as a result, have excessively saggy skin.
Conversely, a mini facelift accomplishes the same goals as a traditional facelift but doesn’t focus on removing as much sagging skin.
So Which One is Actually Better?
The truth is, there’s no better facelift procedure. The one that’s “better” will be able to deliver your desired results without sacrificing your natural appearance or making it look obvious you’ve had surgery.
However, there is one important distinction between the two surgical procedures: the mini-facelift often results in a shorter surgical scar than the traditional facelift, as there’s not as much skin and facial tissue that needs to be corrected.
For that reason, if you’re overly concerned about facial scarring, a mini facelift may be the better option for you.
Which Facelift is Right for You?
The right facelift option for you will largely depend on your desired aesthetic goals, as well as the location of your aging symptoms.
On the one hand, if the majority of your aging symptoms are located around your eyes, eyebrows, and your forehead, a traditional facelift may be the best option for you. If, on the other hand, your aging symptoms seem to be predominantly located around your jawline and lower facial area, you may see better results from a lower facelift.
During what was otherwise a very scary time, everything about this place was spectacular. The staff was genuinely sweet and super friendly, and the doctor was not just professional but personable. I cannot positively comment enough at how I was not made to feel foolish for asking so many questions or being nervous. I truly felt like I was amongst friends and professionals. The entire experience was just top notch.
