Mini Facelift: What’s the Difference?
There are a lot of treatments out there that can help address facial skin sagging, especially around the lower jawline.
In fact, two of those treatments – a traditional facelift and a mini facelift – both aim to reposition facial muscles that may have started drooping as a result of the aging process. They even both adjust sagging skin to help highlight the patient’s new facial contours.
Given that they can address similar issues, you might be left with this question: “What’s the difference between a facelift and a mini facelift?”
*Individual Results May Vary.
What Does a Facelift Address?
A traditional facelift procedure (also known as a full facelift) is a cosmetic surgery that addresses sagging that’s occurred between the mid-to-lower facial region (typically around the neck, jawline, and lower facial region). That means if you’ve experienced skin sagging on any of the following areas, you may see great benefits from a full facelift:
- Hollow under eye region
- Heavy bags under the eyes
- Sagging or hollow cheeks
- Sagging skin around the jawline
- Jowls
The best candidates for a full facelift procedure are those individuals who have excess loose skin around the neck and jawline. Additionally, if you’re interested in tightening your upper cheek area, a full facelift may help you achieve your desired results.
How is a Mini Facelift Different?
A mini facelift is a procedure that aims to address facial aging, with particular focus around the neck and jawline. This mini facelift uses a smaller incision than with a traditional facelift, meaning recovery time can be shorter with fewer chances for obvious surgical scarring.
You may be a good candidate for a mini facelift if you have the following symptoms:
- Sagging around the jawline
- Jowls
- Excess neck skin
