Total vs. Partial Body Lift: Which Procedure Is Right for Me?
Interested in undergoing a total or partial body lift? Before we get into the details, we just want to congratulate you for all of your hard work! Losing a significant amount of weight is no easy feat, and you deserve recognition for how awesome you are.
Many people who lose a large amount of weight might discover that their skin didn’t keep up with their fat loss. This excess skin may prevent these individuals from showing off all of their hard work, which is understandably frustrating. After all, you worked hard for your results – and there shouldn’t be anything holding you back from showing off!
That’s where a body lift treatment comes in. This surgical procedure removes the excess skin, leaving behind a more contoured and trimmer appearance. A body lift is an excellent surgery for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and are bothered by any excess saggy skin that has been left behind.
But the question is, should you undergo a total body lift? Or is a partial body lift more appropriate for you? Here’s how to tell:
- If you have poor skin laxity and have noticed sagging skin on your stomach, arms, thighs, and other body areas, you may be an ideal candidate for a total body lift.
- If there is just one part of your body that is showing excess skin, you may want to undergo a partial body lift, which targets skin removal on a particular area. For example, patients with sagging upper arm skin may want to undergo an arm lift. Patients who have excess skin on their thighs will benefit from a thigh lift, and people who have sagging facial skin may want to learn more about a facelift.
