What is Body Sculpt?
This is a technique invented by Dr. Jeffrey Klein, a practicing cosmetic surgeon in California, in the 1980s. It is a technique not taught in most institutions or academic centers, and is known and practiced by only a small percentage of physicians worldwide.
Body Sculpting is essentially a process called Microcannula liposuction. This procedure uses the tumescent technique under local anesthesia is widely recognized as the safest form of liposuction, as it does not involve general anesthesia, and delivers the smoothest, most natural result, as it uses very small cannulas (instruments used to remove the fat).
Dr. Song has trained with Dr. Klein at his surgery center in California, specifically learning from the master himself and utilizes the same techniques, maintaining the highest standards for patient safety, satisfaction, and care.
All procedures are performed in the operating room to maintain sterility. The patient is awake as a local anesthetic is placed in the area to be treated. This not only numbs the areas to be treated but also minimizes post-operative bruising which is typically more with traditional liposuction.
Because much smaller instruments are used, this involves more work from the physician, but often a smoother, more natural result for the patient. In addition, there is less trauma to the treated areas.
What are the benefits of Microcannula Liposculpture?
Local Anesthesia eliminates the need for general anesthesia, intravenous sedatives, and most other drugs.
Reduced Medication-there is minimal medication used.
Minimal Bleeding-the tumescent technique also helps to prevent bleeding. Most patients will only lose one or two tablespoons of blood throughout the entire procedure, which is comparable to the amount that physicians draw to perform blood tests in a lab. The reduced bleeding makes this technique particularly safe.
Accelerated Recovery-there is no need for scalpels since there are no incisions. Since only 1.5-2 mm adits (very small punch biopsy holes) are placed, there is no need for sutures or stitches. Unlike traditional liposuction, where the incisions are closed with sutures, the anesthetic solution will drain out much more quickly, allowing for faster recovery and far less bruising. The small size of the adits makes sure that they heal quickly. You could take Friday off work for the procedure and return to work by Monday!
What happens after the procedure?
Expect some bruising, however, far less than with traditional liposuction.
You will most likely be tender for a few days after the procedure. Nearly all patients say that Tylenol is sufficient for the pain.
We would like to recheck you in 1 week, 1 month and in 6 months. You will see improvement in the first week!
Microcannula Tumescent Liposculpture Consultations Available
You’ll need to wear a compression garment for the first month as much as possible, as this does promote healing and the final appearance. The garment helps with skin tightening and retraction.
How much fat are you going to take out?
This is an extremely individual matter, one that can’t be assessed without seeing the patient. It’s not so much about the fat itself because different amounts of fat can be removed in order to achieve an aesthetically pleasing shape.
Dr Song is so down to earth and amazing. I had the best experience ever. I was referred by a friend. I went for a consultation for liposuction on my legs, after the consult I felt so great about him and entire staff I booked that day following consult. Surgery was as smooth as any patient could ask for, surgical stall AMAZING!!! Would definitely return!!!
How Do I Know If I Am A Candidate For This Procedure?
